Welcome to Randwick Girls’ High School

Our principal - Lucy Andre with school garden in the background.

Randwick Girls’ High School offers a stimulating learning environment for girls to achieve their personal best, become responsible citizens, make long-lasting relationships and learn the value of being part of a larger community.  We are a proud comprehensive girls’ high school with a strong gifted and talented stream. Our success in the academics each year is testament to the outstanding learning opportunity provided for every girl. We have distinguished alumni in medicine, law and business fields as well as the sporting, creating and performing arts arenas. Girls from various socio-economic backgrounds travel from many Eastern Suburbs to learn at our school.

We provide a learning environment where our students are challenged, supported and enriched. We believe that students love to be challenged in their learning. As the Principal, it brings me great joy to walk into a classroom and see our students immersed in their work, curious and questioning, and delighting in their learning discovery. Our school curriculum has been developed to ensure that quality teaching and learning is at the forefront of all activities at Randwick Girls. Our gifted and talented programs enable our students to develop their potential and to pursue their creativity and critical thinking which operates in every class each day.

Our school places a strong emphasis on holistic learning and student leadership. This enables our students to develop into confident young women ready to take their place as leaders within their communities in academics, culture and sports. Our current school leaders in the Student Representative Council (SRC) enable an enthusiastic student voice in school practices. This ensures a strong school spirit and pride that is associated with our public school, is continually enriched through democratic student leadership activities.

We believe in caring for our students to create optimal school experiences. Our Student Wellbeing programs enable our girls to be fully supported in their learning through the use of positive philosophies which underpin all student activities. These proactive student wellbeing programs meet the needs of our girls and ensure they have equal access to successful learning experiences.

Randwick Girls' High School attracts international students as we are known globally as a place of high quality education, which provides excellent learning opportunities. These students enrich the school and bring with them a vibrant enthusiasm for learning. They are fully supported in their learning and their wellbeing by the International Students team as well as the school’s Wellbeing programs.

Our students are involved in a large range of activities including music, sport, debating and creating and performing arts activities. Annual international student and cultural study tours enrich students’ learning experiences. Currently our school enjoys positive and productive relationships with overseas sisters’ schools, one in Japan and the other in China.

‘Facta Non Verba’ - Actions Speak Louder Than Words - imbues everything we do now and into the future.  Our school is a living learning community comprising of students, parents and teachers working together with shared values which underpin our teaching and learning endeavours and successes. Through a holistic learning approach students' learn to know, learn to do, learn to be, learn to live together and learn to live respectfully and responsibly with each other. By emphasising these values and abilities we believe that our girls are well balanced individuals who are happy and self-motivated to achieve their personal best made available to them in and out of the classrooms.

I am delighted to present our school to you. I am excited by what our girls can achieve through the innovative teaching and exciting programs on offer at this school.
